KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran actor Tan Sri Jins Samsuddin, 74, was named the eighth recipient of the Seniman Negara award last night.
The function was attended by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah.
Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal was also present.
Others recipients included movie directors streamyx email Paduka Suhaimi streamyx account and Aziz M. Osman, actress Fauziah Nawi, actors Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan and Rosyam Noor, and dancer Norsiah Yatim.
The awards were introduced in 1993 to recognise arts activists streamyx prepaid contributed significantly to the development of national arts. ?Bernama
